Private PPV Links/Buttons for Vault Content "Locked Links"
planned
Digital Deity Kuro
Hello,
I wanted to enquire about a more specific feature suggestion now that I've had a chance to experiment further with the existing PPV, Vault, Store and Custom Page functionality.
First, I want to clarify that I realise the platform
does
support pay-to-view content — which is fantastic. I've actually used the PPV functionality myself when chatting with members.The limitation I've discovered is that PPV currently seems to be tied to the chat experience.
What I'm wondering is whether you would consider allowing creators to generate a
standalone private PPV link or button for content stored in the Vault
, rather than requiring the creator to initiate the PPV through a chat conversation.The workflow would be something like:
Upload content to Vault → Set a PPV price → Generate private PPV link/button → Place that link wherever the creator wants → Customer logs in/registers → Customer pays → Content unlocks
The content would still remain completely non-public and would still live within the Vault.
The difference would simply be that the creator could independently generate a payment button/link for that asset.
This would make the Vault much more useful as a private monetisation system rather than purely a storage/delivery area.
I've also realised that I could technically create a digital product in the Store and then link to that product from one of my Custom Pages.
That's useful, and I appreciate that functionality already exists.
However, I think there is an important distinction between a
Store product
and a private PPV asset
.A Store product is something I would generally want to appear as part of my shop/catalogue.
A Vault PPV asset, on the other hand, could be something I deliberately
don't
want appearing in my public Store.I might want to create an entire Custom Page around a particular interactive experience and have private payment buttons embedded throughout that experience.
For example, I could create a themed page that functions almost like a digital casino or interactive game room, with several different paid unlocks.
The individual pieces of content would remain hidden in the Vault, while the Custom Page would contain the payment buttons that allow the member to unlock them.
That is a very different experience from simply sending someone to my Store to purchase a product.
### I think this could open up some really interesting creator use cases
For example, creators could build:
* interactive pay-to-view games
* digital scavenger hunts
* mystery/reveal games
* progressive challenges
* VIP experiences
* personalised reward systems
* paid "unlock" systems
* interactive storylines
* themed game rooms
It would also work particularly well with the Custom Pages feature.
A creator could essentially build a bespoke landing page and place different PPV buttons throughout it.
Instead of:
"Go to my Store and purchase Video #472."
the experience becomes:
"Choose your challenge."
Then the member interacts with the page and decides which individual unlocks they want to purchase.
I think this could also increase incremental spending
This is probably the biggest commercial reason I think the feature would be valuable.
A creator could design an experience around multiple small purchases rather than one large transaction.
For example:
Unlock Level 1 — $3
Unlock Level 2 — $5
Unlock Level 3 —$7
Unlock Level 4 —$10
Final Unlock — $20
The customer isn't necessarily thinking about purchasing a $45 bundle.
They're progressing through an experience and choosing whether they want to unlock the next stage.
That creates a completely different type of purchasing behaviour.
It also gives creators another way to monetise their existing content without necessarily creating an entirely new product for every individual sale.
### It would also make the Vault much more powerful
I think the distinction between the public content library, Store and Vault is actually one of the platform's strengths.
The Vault is particularly useful because creators can keep content there that isn't intended for public-facing pages.
But if Vault content could also generate private PPV links, it would effectively become:
Private content storage + private sales inventory + PPV delivery system.
That could be extremely useful for creators who sell customs, personalised content, exclusive rewards or private upsells.
For custom content in particular, I could see a very straightforward workflow:
Customer orders custom → creator uploads finished video to Vault → creator generates private PPV link → sends customer the link → customer pays → content unlocks.
No need to expose the content in the Store or public catalogue.
Ironically, I think this would actually
complement
the existing chat PPV functionality rather than replace it.Creators could still send spontaneous PPVs through chat exactly as they do now.
But if a creator wanted to prepare an interactive experience beforehand, they could build the page in advance and have the PPV buttons ready.
Then, during a live session, they could simply direct the member to that page.
That means the creator isn't limited to creating PPVs only at the moment they're actively chatting with somebody.
### Even a very simple version would be incredibly useful
It wouldn't necessarily need to be complicated initially.
Something as simple as:
Vault Asset → Set Price → Generate Private PPV Link
would already solve most of the problem.
Optional functionality could eventually include:
* custom button text
* custom PPV description
* expiration date
* customer-specific access
* member-tier restrictions
* maximum number of purchases
* one-time-use links
* reusable links
* purchase limits
The most important thing, however, would simply be the ability to generate a
private, linkable PPV button for Vault content
.I'd also be very interested to know whether this is something that has already been considered or might be on the development roadmap.
If it is already planned, then apologies for duplicating an existing suggestion!
I just wanted to put the idea forward because I think there is a lot of potential here — particularly when combined with Custom Pages.
I can imagine creators building entire branded interactive experiences around this functionality rather than simply having a traditional Store.
That kind of functionality could make Custom Pages into much more powerful
direct-to-fan monetisation and engagement tools
, rather than simply informational pages.I really appreciate how receptive the platform has been to creator feedback, which is why I wanted to put this idea forward.
Thank you for considering it!

We already have designs for a feature like this. it was "locked links". We can see about dusting that off.

Kris wooo! thanks for reviving this!! I love the idea of making PPVs outside of chat, thanks so much

You should be able to attach it as an unlock in the chat.
Digital Deity Kuro
KrisHi Kris, thanks! Just to clarify what I mean, because I may not have explained it clearly.
I already know that I can attach Vault content as a paid unlock in a chat — that's actually the existing PPV functionality I'm referring to.
What I'm asking about is whether I can generate a standalone PPV button/link for a Vault asset outside of chat.
For example, I'd like to create a Custom Page for an interactive game and have:
LEVEL 1 — Unlock for £5
LEVEL 2 — Unlock for £10
LEVEL 3 — Unlock for £15
with each button linked to a different piece of content stored in my Vault.
The member would click the button, pay, and unlock the content, without me having to send it through a chat conversation. I also don't want the content to become a public Store product, because the whole purpose of the Vault is that these assets aren't part of my public content catalogue.
Is that currently possible? If so, could you point me towards how to generate those standalone unlock links/buttons? If not, that's the feature I'm requesting. thank you 😊
